friday film

One of the things I love about film photography is capturing the subtle beauty of a moment in a single shot, rather than taking so many shots of the same thing in an attempt for perfection. You notice the moment, capture it, and wait to see how it translates as a photograph. Sometimes it isn't a great picture, but when it is..well that has to be one of the most satisfying small pleasures I can think of.

roundhay park

Earlier this week my sister and I took a little trip to Roundhay Park to take a walk around the lake. We picked a great day for it as the sun was shining and the air wasn't too cold. It was lovely to be outside and explore a new place. Sitting among the bare trees were lots of beautiful crocuses, which gave me hope that spring is not too far away now..

Happy Valentine's! I hope that you feel loved today.

winter light

Though the fields and trees remain asleep waiting for the spring to come, the gorgeous light before sunset still brings out wonderful colours in them. I can't wait for the blossom to arrive but I'm not complaining about the golden fields we have in the meantime.

it's the little things

Here are a few of the little things that made me happy this weekend..

:: blue sky :: flowering daffodil plant :: cozy blanket :: homemade tomato soup ::

staying at home

Last month I spent a lot of time inside. Partly due to getting things done, partly to a lack of motivation to go anywhere. Staying in can be fun, but not leaving the house enough has got me stuck in a rut. This month I am aiming to get outside more often and explore this new city I am living in. Very much looking forward to Spring weather to help me with my new goal!
