This year's leaves will be turning any day now..

Last Saturday was my birthday. The weather was not great so I didn't end up exploring a new place but I had a great birthday weekend spent with friends and family, all of whom made sure I enjoyed myself. The weekend was full of fun, lots of cake, long chats, great food and generous gifts. The last year has been a crazy one and I fully expect the next year to be similar, but I am so thankful to God for providing such wonderful people to stick by me through it all. Here's to trusting in Him for the year ahead and focussing on His goodness at all times.

Following on from this post, the second wedding of the summer was a family affair. My sister Mia's hen party was so much fun! After breakfast and pottery painting with the bridesmaids we had a Disney themed party with crazy games, plenty of food and a cocktail master-class.

A couple of my favourite imperfect shots from a few summers ago in France.

otley chevin

Last weekend's adventure was a spontaneous group outing to Otley. The weather was a bit grey but we found a nice pub for lunch before taking a little wander across the top of Otley Chevin. There is lots to explore around there, including a big forest park, so we only saw a small part of it. It was a really fun afternoon spent with great people. I will definitely have to go back again, perhaps in sunnier weather, and see some more of the area.

This summer I had the pleasure of being a bridesmaid at two very special weddings, which happened to fall in the same week! I didn't take many photos during the wedding days as I was too busy enjoying them, but I have been meaning to share some pictures from the hen parties for a while now. Firstly, Amelia, one of my oldest and dearest friends. Her hen party was all about afternoon tea, girly chats, good food and lots of laughs. It was a wonderful day!

I had the best time with this guy over summer! So thankful to have him in my life.

a fresh start

After not picking my camera up for pretty much the whole summer, I have made a little resolution for the start of the school year (always a time for fresh starts despite school days being so long ago) to help myself get back in to taking photos again.

I resolve to explore a new place each weekend.

Simple, but hopefully effective. Please keep a check on me..sharing my photos with you each week will be good motivation, particularly as the weather slips in to Autumn. I am looking forward to seeing more of the lovely city of Leeds where I have now been living for 9 months and have not explored nearly enough!

Last weekend I wandered around Holbeck, venturing away from the terraced streets where I live to find the hidden beauty of the area. The weather was gorgeous and I had some good friends with me so it was a small but lovely start. Here's to lots more adventures in the coming weeks!
