friday film

This time last year we were on our honeymoon, so I thought it would be more than appropriate to finally share some of my photos! We spent our first week in the Wye Valley, on the border of England and Wales. It was pretty cold and snowy so we mostly stayed inside but towards the end of the week the weather cleared up and we had a fun adventure walking down to Tintern to see the abbey. The last photo is one of the few couple shots we managed to get, in this case achieved by using the timer and balancing my camera on a wonky fence post!

spring expectations

Oh spring. Every year I put such high expectations on you to be summer and then feel like you let me down when the weather switches from warm and sunny back to cold and grey. This week has brought rain, wind, even hail, and I have reverted to wearing extra layers and living under my blanket. But spring is always unpredictable, and changeable weather is part of the season. Let's just focus on the fact that these spring showers will hopefully give the leaves the boost they need to cover the bare trees in green again. In the meantime, I hope you enjoy this wonderful blossom I found a few weeks ago..

first wedding anniversary

This weekend marked a year since we got married. Most people made comments like "has is been a year already?" or "where did the time go?" and so on. To be honest, it feels like a lot longer than a year ago to me. We have had a tricky start thanks to the wonders of immigration law and still are far from being what we refer to as a proper married couple. But I would much rather be going through all of this and be married to my best friend than be anywhere else in life right now. Tim, thank you for all your support and for always making me laugh. Here's to our next year together..may we be together by the end of it!

a trip to oxford

At the weekend my sister and I headed south to visit our sister who is living in Oxford for the year. Oxford is a wonderfully familiar place for me, having lived there for a couple of years and meeting my husband during that time. I love that returning to Oxford after moving away brings a new appreciation for the uniqueness of the city, which so quickly becomes normal when you see it every day. We had a lovely time and the weather could not have been more perfect for wandering around the beautiful streets and picnicking in the park. Well done Spring!

a sunny afternoon

This weekend the weather was warm! So we decided to head to the park and relax in the sunshine. It was so wonderful to be outside without coats on. Eventually we stopped pretending the wind wasn't still just a bit too chilly for us and headed home. Hurray for sunshine and warmer weather..hopefully Spring will bring us lots of days like this and not revert to snow like last year!

happy monday

I hope the sun is shining where you are. Here are some flowers to brighten up your day. Have a lovely week!
